![]() The four Ryzen 7000 processors that were launched on September 27, 2022. ![]() AMD confirmed in a recent webcast that Ryzen 8000, which has Zen 5 cores and Navi 3.5. In this case, OpenVINO seemed to play a much smaller role. The very best of AMD’s Zen 4 architecture will use two fully enabled CCDs to deliver a total of 16 CPU cores. On August 29, 2022, AMD announced four Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors. The desktop equivalent should be Granite Ridge, which also debuts in 2024. We should expect AMDs new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs to drop sometime around September. Zen 4 chips are now available on store shelves, from the mid-range, six-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 7600X to the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X. Zen 4 will be fabbed by TSMC on their new 5nm process node and will reportedly enter mass production this month. The CPUs will retain the chiplet design along with high-core counts. On Sapphire Rapids, power consumption stayed about the same with as without, but performance jumped by 44.2%. Ryzen 7000 and Zen 4 are great improvements over Zen 3, supporting newer technologies and showing AMD is not afraid of doing things differently as long as it means dethroning Intel again. The AMD Ryzen 7000 processors will be powered by the brand new Zen 4 core architecture which is going to bring an 8-10 IPC uplift. ![]() The reason Zen 4 might be an exception is that it can do the same amount of work per cycle, either using AVX/AVX2 instructions or AVX-512, given how they implemented AVX-512.Įdit: I found this benchmark of AVX-512 on Ice Lake SP showing AVX-512 used 23.3% more power for only 34.1% more performance: Hotaru.hino said:I'm pretty sure this was just the low power limit being hit, rather than something like this (from )Īnd am too lazy to find out if anyone did an AVX512/no-AVX512 test.Yeah, but also remember that Rocket Lake is the 14 nm backport of Ice Lake, whereas the Intel CPUs in Phoronix' benchmark are made on Intel 10 nm.īut, you're almost certainly right that the Intel would use more power on AVX-512, if not clock/power/thermally throttled. AMD has kicked off a new promotional bundle, its first for the Ryzen 7000 Series of Zen 4 architecture desktop processors. First tipped at CES 2022, the Ryzen 7000 will be the first set of consumer chips to employ the new Zen 4 microarchitecture with leading-edge process technology. ![]()
